West Ham vs Man City the outcome was in favor of away side
Gvardiol has been a bit suspect with his positioning on the left in his first few starts for City.

With Jarrod Bowen up against him today, there’s no margin for similar complacency.

Man City go close!. A headed corner was initially dealt with by West Ham goalkeeper Areola before Rodri’s effort was cleared off the line.

Areola then had to tip a headed effort over the bar and somehow City don’t score.

Bernardo Silva is playing well in midfield, but he’s not a like-for-like replacement for Kovacic. For a start, Bernardo is right of Rodri rather than left, and he is swapping with Foden.

West Ham get their first corner of the game which ends in Soucek flicking the ball on, going close.

The best chance comes from the other side though as Jeremy Doku feeds the run of Josko Gvardiol inside the area, and Erling Haaland inexplicably scuffs it wide at the back post.

City should be at least one goal up – and then West Ham cause havoc in the area from a corner.

West Ham have taken confidence from those let-offs, and with James Ward-Prowse they are always a threat when they get set pieces.

The first couple of corners City defended weren’t dealt with convincingly at all.

Haaland snaps another shot on goal and goes close as he looks to amend his earlier miss

Another one! Doku does excellently to find Haaland at the back post but it looks as though the striker treads on the ball as it’s cleared

GOAL… City level back . Not a minute gone and City are back level! Doku wraps his foot around the ball and arrows it into the net. That’s his first goal since signing

Gvardiol with a half-chance that goes sailing over the bar after Areola palms a shot from Foden

Alvarez whips in a free-kick which crashes onto the post and away from danger. So unlucky
