Sheffield United vs Man City the outcome was in favor of away side.

Josko Gvardiol still seems to be learning on the job. City pressed their men well when Foderingham wanted to take a goal-kick so,

he was forced to go long, but then Gvardiol hadn’t realized he was supposed to be marking someone as well and the shots retained possession.

Haaland rises highest for a header but it goes straight at Foderingham.

Walker with a shot from range but it ricochets back to the ‘keeper. Meanwhile Osborn is down and looks like he has pulled a muscle.

Ake scrambles the ball into the back of the net but Rodri, who knocked it down for the defender, was offside from the free kick.

Jack Grealish has carried the ball a lot in these opening minutes.

He hasn’t made much progress towards the goal but has kept City in possession as they continue to test Sheffield United out.

With nobody on the right wing, if Grealish can’t have any joy then City are going to have to go through the middle.

Walker with a brilliant ball across the face and somehow the home team put it behind for a corner.

The resulting corner goes all the way through and is cleared by Egan.

Sheffield United have had basically none of the ball but will be the happier team after more than half an hour of football that has been without event or incident.

They may not have been able to lay a glove on City but they’ve stopped the Blues from getting anywhere near their goal.

Bernardo loses the ball in front of his goal but Souza can’t get on the end of it.

Penalty awarded for Man City as Egan is penalised for a handball, but Erlin Haaland hits the post and missed it.

Rodri with the effort from range but it is straight at Foderingham.

Haaland down again in the area, this time under a challenge by Baldock but again no penalty.

Rodri receives the ball from Grealish, drills it towards goal and it goes just wide.

Alvarez has a shot saved at the near post for a corner. Walker then has a shot from range but it goes over.

Haaland breaks the deadlock. Grealish gets to the byline and clips it to the Norwegian who heads home.
