“No Nigerian should ever cry about racism” – Actress Etinosa Idemudia shares her thoughts on events during the 2023 elections

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared her thoughts following the 2023 elections that took place in Nigeria on 25th February and 18th March 2023.

Naijachoice Media reported in parts how the presidential and gubernatorial elections played out in different parts of the country. According to a series of reports from eyewitnesses and videos which made rounds on social media, the election which has been tagged as ‘Intimidation’ by Netizen was far from being free and fair.

Asides from news of electoral violence and thuggery that flooded the media, the issues of tribalism also played a huge role in the disenfranchisement of citizens who wanted to perform their civic duty. In Lagos for example, the Majority of the Igbos were stopped from voting by thugs allegedly sent by the rulingparty, All Progressive Party (APC) not stopping there, they also stopped Yorubas whom they claimed looked like Igbo from voting.

Scores of citizens were reported to have sustained various degrees of injuries while some were alleged to have been shot dead as thugs cart away ballot boxes at polling.

Reacting to all that took place during the election,
Etinosa while sharing her thoughts aloud took a swipe at the issue of tribalism. She said with all she witnessed, Nigerians shouldn’t cry fowl about racism because it is what some people practice under disguise.

She wrote: “After all I have witnessed in this country, No Nigerian should ever cry about racism cos y’all … Nah. Y’all are the real MVPs. Keep it up”
