“In Yoruba land, his body is not the type you keep at home” – Mohbad’s father reveals why he hurriedly buried his late son

Mohbad’s father finally reveals why explains why he attempted to have him buried at midnight.

Recall that the Baale of Ikorodu had spoken to interviewers about how he stopped Mohbad’s father from burying his late son at midnight, a revelation which sparked outrage on social media with many accusing Mohbad’s father of being an irresponsible parent.

Reacting to all the accusations and call outs, Mohbad’s father explained that the burial rush was due to Yoruba culture, adding that it is sad to keep a small child’s remains around while his parents are still living.

He went on to say that the reason he buried a public figure in such a desolate location was because it was the only landed property he knew to be his.

Excerpt from the interview;
“Everybody has what they are facing. In Yoruba land, his body is not the type you keep at home because he was young and his parents are alive. If it was to be an elderly person, we would have kept him in the mortuary for as long as we wanted.

“In his case, the day we see evil is the day it goes away. It was at that midnight that I made the decision. I had him buried on that land because that is the only property that I know of and we had an agreement that I’d use the land to build a church.”
