Celebrity chef, Hilda Baci has set a new time for her cook-a-thon as she finally completes the time frame for her challenge.
Hilda Baci, on her quest to become the single chef for the longest cooking time, set a 96 hours time frame, over 8 hours ahead of the record-setter, Chef Lata Tondon. After conquering the set time, Hilda is set for a 100-hour marathon, increasing the stake with 4 more hours.
Naijachoice Media earlier reported that Guinness World Records revealed that they would review Hilda Baci’s evidence before officially confirming a record for her.
This followed a query by Nigerians when the platform refuses to make a statement after Hilda broke the 87 hours 45 minutes record previously held by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon. The beautiful Akwa Ibom chef broke the record around 7:46 am on Monday, 15th of May, 2023.
Responding to the query, the Guinness World Records wrote on social media “We are aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record”
The Guinness Book of Records, often known as the Guinness World Records, is a reference book that contains human and natural world records.
Baci told reporters: “The journey to the cook-a-thon started five years ago. It is one of my biggest aspirations, and I am glad that I took the bold step to embark on this adventure. I have taken time to prepare for this psychologically, and I am proud to finally take on this challenge.”
“The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to tell some of the positive stories that come from Africa through the meals that we make. This attempt is also proof of the strength young people can exhibit with the right platform and support. I look forward to receiving support from people across the world to achieve this feat”.
